Mole National Park

The best part of Mole national park is the birds. The birds are truly exotic. Like many other good things in Ghana, the birds are not talked about much here. There are hardly any books about birds of Ghana. But we were lucky to meet Zach - the birds expert at Mole national park. Zach with his binocs opened the world of Ghana birds to us.

The big black African elephants are a sight to behold. Just before we were leaving the elephants surfaced at the water hole that the hotel overlooks. After spending a couple of days looking for elephants, when we saw them they lingered. They played and bathed at the water hole for a couple of hours. Too bad it was time to leave. I could spend a life time watching African elephants.
